Peace
Tension, fear and enmity are massing in the world, and two words
laden with connotation are: Islam and Israel. So when God brings Russian-speaking Muslims to our ministry in the epicenter
of Russian Jewish Brooklyn, what do we do? Peace

Sometimes, Russian is a convenient language. For example, the two words
for grace and thanksgiving are closely related: blagodat and blagodarenia. Deep in your own soul, have you experienced that

Reality
Candidly speaking, your unworldly editor has not even once viewed any
of the reality television shows. It is much more consequential to live and work with Russian Jewish immigrants in Brooklyn,
sharing the Good News of Jesus the Messiah with brilliant, highly-educated descendents of Abraham who survived under atheistic
communism in the former Soviet Union. Reality

Russian Jews love to take excursions to various attractions within a
day or two of New York City. Typically, they gather early in the morning at a corner on Brighton Beach Avenue, board a nice
bus with a Russian-speaking tour guide, and zoom off to see as much as possible in the short time available to immigrants.

Patriotism
Immigrants in New York City have been in the midst of an intensive summer
course called Patriotism 101 – rooting for American athletes in the Olympic Games, hearing our national anthem time
after time, considering the principles of our President and his opponents here in New York, seeing our flag everywhere, and
remembering what happened on 9/11 and why. Patriotism
